WEB PORTALS VERSUS PRINTED PRESS (pros and cons essay)

mc

Nowadays less and less people use newspapers, because web portals are becoming more popular. People do not buy as many gazettes as before as they can find their favourite  magazines on the web. Therefore electronic media are slowly replacing printed press. Although new forms of newspapers are comfortable and more and more common, they have advantages and disadvantages.

First of the benefits is that now we have little time, so people save it using computer and Internet to reading magazines. For example when we are eating breakfast or on the bus, if we have network access, we do not need to go to the newsstand. Readers only have to click on to find an interesting article, so electronic media are a large convenience. Furthermore introduction of new form of press is very profitable in terms of economy and ecology. Publishers and readers can save money and we do not destroy environment by the logging. In addition we can find all types of magazines on the Internet, which is so comfortable. Now people do not need to have newspapers close at hand. Appliance with web access is the only thing which you must have if you want to read any online publication.

On the other hand, using web portals quickly becomes boring and does not give satisfaction. For some people press wieving in the morning is like a ritual. What is more, older people often cannot use computers, therefore electronic media are not available for them. One of the main disadvantages of web portals is also dependence on the Internet. Some people live in this virtual world and have not face to face contact with other persons. Electronic media contribute to closing in our houses and depriving charm of holding newspaper in hand.

In conclusion use web portals is so comfy and inevitable but have both good and bad aspects. Electronic media are very popular and common in today’s world yet people for a long time will  be also reading printed press. Technology is constantly evolving but it is hard to change human habits immediately.

WELCOME!

From: Barbara W.

Dearest Students,

that's your blog! If you don't like the layout, I will change it; if you expect some more options, just give me a sign! What if you don't accept the blog's name?... Well... I chose it because Aunt Wiki says: 'No pain, no gain (or "No gain without pain") is an exercise motto that promises greater value rewards for the price of hard and even painful work. Under this conception competitive professionals such as athletes and artists are required to endure pain and pressure to achieve professional excellence'. And that's exactly what I wish you!!

I want you to be excellent, brilliant and self-confident in English - I hope this blog will help you to achieve such goals, but I'm also aware of the fact that it isn't a piece of cake... so GOOD LUCK!

Honestly, I can't wait for your posts! Don't make me suffer from impatience:)

Truly yours,
Teacher of English
